Kindling Furniture is underway! Miao Wang has joined us from The Jam Factory in Adelaide to set up the workshop for crafting reclaimed and recycled timbers into beautiful pieces of furniture. Miao and his wife Hong Mei, arrived from the province of Sichuan, China five years ago. Miao was a graphic designer specializing in 3D illustration and animation in China however when he came to Australia, he wanted to turn those skills into an actual craft. In this photo, Miao is holding a traditional, slot together, Chinese toy propeller that he makes from wood offcuts. I am so excited that he has joined us here at the winery; so much so, that I notice Steve is watching my every (tape measure wielding) move in case I pop one too many orders into the workshop.
